    A.W. Ahern (“Andy”) is Chief Executive Officer and founder of Ahern & Associates, LTD. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Business Education from Southern Illinois University and is an accredited member of the Institute of Management Consultants and the National Bureau of Certified Consultants. He holds the dignified appellation of Certified Professional Consultant to Management (CPCM) and Certified Management Consultant (CMC).

    As a respected transportation author, Mr. Ahern publishes a nationally recognized transportation newsletter, The Ahern Advisory. He also provides a weekly video podcast on his website. The newsletter and podcast provide pertinent information for owners and managers of transportation companies. Andy has extensive experience in:

Andy has also been a guest featured speaker for Reuters News, Road Dawg Radio, Entrepreneur Radio, and has been a reoccurring guest commentator for Transport Topics.

    Mr. Ahern was profiled by American Executive, recognizing him and his firm as one of the most progressive transportation consulting companies in the country.

    He is active in working with groundbreaking technologies in transportation, including pioneering new software developments in conjunction with Analytical Management Techniques’ transportation software programs for the trucking industry. This software is specifically designed for trucking and logistics companies. The program tracks each dispatch and truck, showing an owner instantly, based upon his/her own operating cost, whether a profit is being made on each individual dispatched load. In addition to software programs, Mr. Ahern has spearheaded numerous agent programs for some of the larger trucking companies in the United States and Canada.

    Ahern & Associates, and Andy, shares their knowledge by utilizing a free “hot line”, in which any transportation, trucking, or logistics company owner can call and spend an hour with an Ahern Associate. Andy also has done numerous speaking engagements around the country.

    Throughout his career, Andy has been recognized for his achievements through various distinguished awards, including Businessman of the Year Award in 2002, Hunger Hero Award presented by the St. Mary’s Food Bank, and recognition from numerous humanitarian awards for his contributions in combating hunger and helping those in need.

    In addition to his awards, Andy also was recognized in the 1997 – 1998 American Directory Edition of Who’s Who in Executives and Businesses.

    Andy is quite involved in the transportation industry. In 2010 and 2011, he sponsored a trucking and logistics seminar with the Benesch Law Firm which drew attendees from all corners of the country. Mr. Ahern was also the Chairman of the unsecured creditors committee for one of the largest transportation bankruptcies in the United States – Internet, Inc.

    Currently, he produces a weekly video podcast that is broadcast over the internet and viewed by a large, committed following. Several years ago, he launched a trucking company crisis hotline that is free of charge and he has developed an industry pricing formula for the trucking industry. He is visible in various social media outlets including posting open acquisition needs on his blog and interacting with colleagues on Twitter. He is also involved in many industry associations including The American Trucking Association (ATA), Transportation Intermediary Association (TIA), Arkansas Trucking Association, Alabama Motor Carriers Association; Arizona Trucking Association, California Trucking Association, The Intermodal National Association, and the Nebraska Trucking Association, to name a few.

    Andy is also a convicted felon and spent fifteen months in a federal prison in Las Vegas, NV. He speaks frequently to corporations about operating in the “gray zone” and the vulnerability that entrepreneurs have if they become a target of the Federal Government. His lectures provide a stark reality to the complexity of today’s business and the ease in which values can be compromised. He is a much sought after speaker and lecturer, and he believes that his incarceration period was a valuable learning experience and tool for his business expertise.
